Everyone spends those last few weeks of December trying to come up with the perfect New Year's resolution. Yet, everyone spends those first few weeks of January ignoring those resolutions and slipping back into our old habits. Really, you never have to wait for that time of year in order to start making resolutions to change your life and change your thought habits – especially when it’s about reducing stress; something that’s vital to your overall health and wellbeing.

We all understand that stress contributes to a huge number of health problems both mental and physical. Even knowing this, it is difficult to take active steps to lower the stress levels in your life and to move from motivation to permanent lifestyle changes.

Everyone knows that in order to succeed in any assignment whether it be work or school or home, you have to set goals. A resolution is simply a promise to yourself to reach the goal that you have set. The tough part about a resolution is that it is much easier to let those goals slide than it is to accomplish them.

The key to creating a position in which keeping your stress reduction resolutions is guaranteed, is to start by setting goals that are attainable. This does not mean that the goals are easy to reach, but it does mean that they are realistic.

SMART ideas will guide you to your goals. SMART is an acronym for "Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. This simple idea will help you to set a pattern for defining your resolutions and goals. If you are careful to create only goals that fit into this pattern, you will be able to achieve those goals with a minimal amount of effort and stress. In this book, we show you how.

Stress is the root cause of many of our modern day afflictions. There is a general misconception that stress is bad. All tress is not bad. To remain active and creative we have to take stress. Stresses become bad and threatening when we recede to the background and allow our stresses to control us. In other words we are not able to manage our stresses for our development and physical and mental well being. Stresses are only challenges thrown at us , our achievement and goals, or for that matter, our failures and worries are byproducts of how we handle our stresses.

This kindle book guides us how to meet life's challenges without being bugged down by the stress, and how not to let stress be the driver of our destiny.

Every CEO, politician or researcher encounters numerous stresses in every moment of their lives. It is how they manage their situation only decides their success or failure.

One of the best ideas to manage our stresses is to adopt the SMART principle, that is making our goals Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. It is one thing having just a goal or objective and another to keep them SMART. One simple way to achieve our goals is to break our tasks into small bits and to accomplish them one at a time. That way the task doesn't look daunting and we do not run away from it before achieving it.

The best learning I derived from this handy guide is that stress is inevitable in life and the best stress buster is MYSELF.

This book helped me with ideas to manage my stress. Also helped me realize that the symptoms I was feeling was truly anxiety
The book has much good advice, and is very uplifting. It is a fairly easy read. I recommend for anyone wanting or needing some quick reminders for stress relief.
After losing my husband and my brother. My life has been so empty. Each day has been so hard to deal with since they are no longer here. Change and stress is something that has never been easy for me to deal with. This book has taught me to take baby steps and that it's all right if it takes time for you to move on in your life. That there will be a lot of twists and turns in your life after you lose a loved one. This is a great book for anyone who needs help walking the rough roads we get in our daily life.
This is a wonderfully simple book that says in plain English what most of us know about stress but don't always want to admit. There are so many practical solutions in this book, and it is the perfect book to read in January (or any time you are ready to make a change in your life).

As I read the book, I was pleased to see how I had already followed so many of the suggestions in reducing stress from my life. I don't say this to make myself look so perfect, but I know that I have had my struggles with stress--especially in the past few years with relationships, jobs, and blog business/deadlines. I was glad to see her include a section in the book regarding faith and its role in stress management.

If you are looking for simple, practical methods to reduce your stress at any time of the year--but especially at the beginning of the year--this is the book for you!

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine.
